MIR KUMEN ON was restored by Lobster Films in collaboration with the Deutsche Kinemathek (Berlin), the Filmoteka Narodowa (Warsaw) and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA - New York), from a nitrate print preserved in the Deutsche Kinemathek, an incomplete acetate print with Danish subtitles in the Filmoteka Narodowa collection, and a 3rd generation safety dupe negative dubbed and subtitled in English preserved in the MoMA collection.

The original camera negative has been lost.

The restoration was based on a master positive from the BFI National Archive collection. Missing scenes were re-inserted using a duplicate negative from Praesens-Film.

"The reconstruction of OUR HEAVENLY BODIES is based on material from two sources.
An original tinted and toned nitrate positive print 1,714m long, with Swedish and Finnish intertitles from the Helsinki Film Archive and a nitrate dupe negative 497m long with German flash titles from the Deutsche Kinemathek in Berlin.
The text of the missing German intertitles was obtained from a German censorship card in the Swedish Film Archive.
The reconstruction of the film is nearly complete. Only a few shots are missing."

Film:ReStored_01: First Film Heritage Festival

Organizado pela Deutsche Kinemathek, o Film:ReStored_01, festival dedicado à herança da preservação cinematográfica, apresenta, na sua primeira edição, uma programação preenchida pela estreia das versões restauradas de filmes germânicos (KAMERADSCHAFT e DU HAUT EN BAS, ambos de G. W. Pabst, são títulos a destacar) produzidos nas últimas seis décadas, assim como por um conjunto de palestras e debates em torno das questões morais e estéticas que regem, actualmente, a actividade da conservação e restauro de obras cinematográficas.
